Referred candidates are mostly always better than the candidates you source through typical hiring mechanisms as they are known to the people referring them. Hence, reaching out to these candidates should not be delayed and must be done in a proper way.
These candidates are not actively looking for jobs and therefore are passive candidates. There are a few points you have to keep in mind while communicating with passive candidates.
Here is a Referred Candidate Interview Invitation Mail template that you can use to send to candidates referred by a present employee at your company.
Subject: Interview Invitation at [Company Name]
Template
Hi [Candidate Name],
Employees are the biggest asset of any organization and we love asking our own to refer awesome people to fill our open positions. Yesterday, we have asked our employee, [employee name] to suggest someone he/she knows for the role of a [position], and he/she thinks that you would be a good fit for this position as well as our company culture.
We wanted to reach out to you directly, and ask you if this is something you would be interested in?
If so, we’d love to schedule a [phone call/meeting] at [date and time] to get to know you more and you'll also have the opportunity to learn a bit more about the job position?
Let us know if you are available on the date and time mentioned above, if not, you can suggest us other alternatives.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards
