Foreword

The following company car policy will mention all the guidelines that need to be followed for using the car provided by the organization. A “company car” can be any type of vehicle that has been assigned to the employees by the company to support their transportation needs related to the job. Company cars will solely belong to the company and the organization takes measures to ensure that it is used efficiently.

Regulations:

• The employees who need to travel more than [X miles] per year will be eligible for a company car. Employees may also be provided a company car as a perk attached to the offer.
• Certain prerequisites need to be followed for an employee to be eligible for a company car and can be provided as follows:
  • A valid driver’s license will be a must
  • A lean record of driving for at least [Y years].
  • Employees will be asked to complete a form and submit a copy of the license to be eligible for the car
• Employees with disabilities will also be provided a company car provided they are under no strong influence of medicine that may disrupt their driving activity.
• Employees will not be allowed to smoke inside the car, along with using it for personal use will be a strict no.
• The company will not be responsible for paying the fines that the employees owe.
• Employees will be encouraged to use public transport as and when possible both for environmental purposes and for efficiency.

Disciplinary actions:

If the employees fail to follow the above-stated policy guidelines, then there may be severe consequences. For minor offenses such as providing the company car to an unauthorized person or getting more than two fines may issue reprimands.

Based on the more serious offense the employee may be terminated along with legal action being taken.
