This policy enlisted will be entitled to all our employees. This policy will however not
apply to employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Elements involved
The following holidays will be observed by our company:
New Year’s Day
Good Friday
Independence Day
Diwali
Republic Day
Eid-al-Fitr
Ganesh Chaturthi
[Any other holidays that are followed]
The holidays will be considered to be day-offs for all those employees who belong to our
organization unless there is a particular department or branch that needs to operate
during the above-mentioned days. Additionally, if an employee misses out on a holiday
due to a compressed work week, they can take a substitute day off. Employees who wish to
do the same can inform their HR and manager.
Guidelines
The following guidelines must be followed:
In case you decide to work on a holiday let your employees know regarding the same a
week prior. We won’t be counting the number of hours that an employee has worked
during a holiday to decide whether he or she is eligible for overtime pay.
Employees will be entitled to their normal compensation structure without any
deductions for holidays whether they have worked or not. Part-time employees will be
provided the amount based on the hours they have worked.
If the employee is on a leave during the holiday, be it due to sickness or vacation,
the employee shall be paid the amount for the holiday however an employee with a
non-pay status will not be entitled to the same.
Apart from the national or state holidays, there shall be an allowance for unpaid
holidays for religious holidays.
