A Flight Attendant is an individual who is a vital member of the aircrew in commercial flights. Flight Attendants are also known as stewards, stewardesses, air hostesses, or hosts. They are most commonly seen in commercial aircrafts carrying passengers, business jets, and government aircraft. The flight attendants of a single flight at a time are collectively called cabin crew.
What does a Flight Attendant do?
The main duty of a flight attendant is to take care and pay attention to passenger comfort and safety. They must ensure that the passengers have all that they need at all times. They need to ensure that all the emergency pieces of equipment of the aircraft are in working condition, the cabin remains clean at all times, and all passengers have access to an adequate supply of food and beverages. They also need to educate passengers on safety procedures and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Guide passengers for safety and comfort
- Conduct safety checks before the flight every day
- Help passengers with any kind of issue during their flight such as finding their seat
- Greet passengers and have a welcoming attitude
- Monitor the cabin at all times
- Attend to food orders from passengers
- Follow all aviation rules and regulations
- Assist the cabin crew, the pilot, and passengers during an emergency situation
- Instruct passengers on how to use emergency equipment
- Record reports on any kind of flight incident
Key requirements
- Proven work experience as a flight attendant or a similar role
- Cabin crew training and certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-oriented attitude
- Fluency in English and local language
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
