- Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that will address various needs and expectations
- Deploy several training methods
- Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
- Monitor and evaluate the training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
- Manage training budget
- Provide opportunities for ongoing development
- Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, and consultation with line managers
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices
- Resolve any problems and tailor training programs as necessary
Key requirements
The key requirements of a training manager can be provided as follows:
- Proven work experience as a training manager or a similar role
- Ability to plan, multitask and manage time effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with record-keeping ability to provide reports and training manuals
- Bachelor’s degree in education, HR, relevant field
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods which include mentoring, coaching, e-learning, workshops, etc.
- Good computer and database skills
