The tax analyst is a professional responsible for ensuring that an organization pays the right amount of taxes and is in compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting obligations. The Tax Analyst position is involved in all aspects of domestic transaction tax compliance and research in the unique and quickly evolving field of e-commerce.

What does a Tax Analyst do?
Tax Analysts are responsible for ensuring accurate taxation, reporting, and tax remittances for a company’s staff payrolls. They also provide support to the payroll manager and relevant units with research and projects related to tax matters as needed.
The tax analyst role also involves managing the relationship between a company and its tax vendors to ensure appropriate handling of all tax obligations and the timely resolution of agency notices.
Job brief
Tax analysts prepare, review, and file tax returns and tax forms. We are looking for a tax analyst to prepare taxes and find ways to reduce tax payments. You will have to work independently with minimal supervision, primarily in office environments during daytime business hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for gathering the information required for international compliance and transfer pricing, and provide support with the year-end provision
- Provide support with professional development, as well as review the work of the tax accountant
- Provide support for tax audits and answer to inquiries from various taxing jurisdictions
- Verify account balances by performing reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts
- Responsible for ensuring proper taxation of inbound and outbound expatriate employees
- Ensure the organization is current with changing tax obligations and contact tax agencies to apply for and set up new tax IDs as necessary
- Liaise with tax agencies for timely resolution of all payroll tax-related issues
- Review and approve all payments and returns by tax vendors whether on a weekly, biweekly, quarterly, or annual basis
- Regularly perform audits on the system to ensure data integrity; responsible for the resolution of discrepancies that might adversely impact the company’s tax returns
- Responsible for the reconciliation of payroll tax account balances and other payroll functions as required.
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other four-year degrees with equivalent accounting experience.
- One - five years accounting or transaction tax experience.
- Strong computer technical skills - MS Excel
- Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
- Strong communication skills - both oral and written
- Team-player, customer-centric attitude
