Who is a Test Engineer?
A Test engineer inspects and reports on the quality of the products during the entire production cycle. Based on the type of product they may use various criteria to check the quality such as functionality, safety, speed, and durability.
What does a Test engineer do?
The role of a test engineer will be to thoroughly check the materials, procedures, and electrical or mechanical systems that are used to ensure that the customer gets a high-quality functional product.
They are also responsible to run tests on a variety of components and features to identify and fix technical issues. Experience test engineers are also made to be responsible for training their juniors and managing them.
Job brief
We are looking for a test engineer who will be a part of our team to thoroughly inspect the products before they are launched. As a test engineer, you will also be working closely with the production team to understand why the building of a product is done and what the specific requirements will be. Later on, a series of tests will be run through all the stages of production to identify any potential issues and hence recommend improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
- Gathering various product requirements such as safety standards, speed, functionalities
- Inspection of raw materials and machinery to identify if there are any defects or malfunctions
- Run quality control on final products and components before they are used
- Monitoring all the stages of production to ensure that the safety processes are followed
- Analysis of test results, detection issues, and tracking root causes
- Document any technical issues found and find out their solutions
- Ensure all the products and procedures meet the needed industry standards
- Develop test environments and test cases for all sorts of electrical and mechanical systems
Key requirements
The key requirements can be provided as follows:
- Previous experience as a test engineer or a similar role
- Great troubleshooting skills
- Analytical mindset
- Bachelors in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or relevant field
- Knowledge of various quality regulations and standards
- Hands-on experience with QMS (quality management systems)
- Familiarity with various testing procedures
